The dreaded tourists

Prince Edward County in summer has increasingly been a madhouse.

Crowds at wineries. Drivers lost on dirt backroads.

Limited and pricey accommodation.

Gridlock and grumbles.

Maybe it would be better if you just don't visit this year.

PEC can't blow up the two bridges. But....

Sandbanks Provincial Park and other popular spots?

Consider a $400 no parking ticket.

The rocky beach in Wellington? Soon $10 on weekends.

Camp illegally? A $500 fine.

The County has invested zillions in tourism.

But new intimidating fines and draconian measures are designed to limit traffic.

This year, I would hate to own a winery with a year's backlog of covid stock or that veggie stand at the Picton round-about.
