For whom the worms turn

Great news on Facebook for the
Ontario Save the Worms Society!

Tom Williams posts a 1990 Sun column detailing this group's vital work, protecting and liberating the worms of Ontario.

"Others devote their life to the loon, sea otter or eagle," I wrote. "We free the worms."

"It is important work. Every time we see a bait shop, we buy a bucket of worms. Set them loose in your garden. Every spring they'll come up and parade past your window in gratitude, with all their kids and grandkids."

If a soft rain brings worms to your driveway, flip them back in the grass.

Do not be like fishermen, who torture them.

Bait stores love the Save the Worms Society.
Fishermen buy worms that are never seen again.
We set our worms free in the wild, to be collected and sold over and over again.

This is serious business.
Look: We have t-shirts.

Williams is also the genius behind The Groomal Registry.

The registry is a list of drinks a guy leaves at his favorite bar, months before he gets married.
Just like a bridal registry, his pals try to buy him every drink on the registry before the Big Day.

It is way funner than plates and forks.
