At midnight, vaccinated US travelers are again "free" to visit Canada.
But authorities on both sides of the border have botched the re-opening badly.
Required covid pre-tests for travel are not easily available in the US ... or in Canada.
A handful of airports in both countries have on-site tests and are already overwhelmed.
The pre-tests have largely been left to the sketchy "labs" and advertisers on Facebook. They charge up to $300--and sorry, no appointments are available.
If one is, you may have to spend days online.
Or drive 200 kms to an opening.
Incoming US visitors will need another covid test to go home.
On the Canadian side of the border, test availability is even harder to find.
Good luck with that.
I suspect we'll see stories of travel chaos this week that belie the cheery Ontario Yours to Discover ads now in full flight.
