LOST SONGS: Black Denim Trousers & Motorcycle Boots, Joan Morris, the Cheers

_

He wore black denim trousers and motorcycle boots

And a black leather jacket with an eagle on the back

He had a hopped-up 'cicle that took off like a gun...

Nonesuch is a classical music label. CD and Lps.

Mezzo-soprano Joan Morris used to toss this off as an encore, when she did concerts with husband and piano player William Bolcom.

It gained a certain infamy through airplay.

Black Denim Trousers and Motorcycle Boots is a teenage tragedy song written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. Recorded by The Cheers, it went to #6 on the Billboard Best Selling singles.

It was Leiber & Stoller's first hit.

Word of caution kids:

Never race your 'cycle against a screamin' diesel.
