In my continued grousing about the CBC, look at this clip of the almost-Boss Brass.
Every key player, from Guido Basso to Rob McConnell, Bickert & Clark to Doug Riley at keyboards.
Remember the days when the CBC could afford live musicians, studio band sets and inventive camera moves and framing? Is that because they only had two cameras working the day of the pre-tape? Probably.
Does the Corp even have a TV music show now?
Or has all music been banished to this new thing they call FM Stereo? Two mikes. Imagine that! Two ears? Two speakers. I am dumbstruck.
CBC-TV is for news and bland sitcoms--bland on purpose in pursuit of foreign sales.
More musicians performed on Zoom this last year than CBC-TV booked ... ever.
This is judgment by default.
They just gave up.
The Court finds that scandalous.
