All hail the Vikings.
 
Here are eight replica sod-covered houses on the north tip of Newfoundland, built 471 years before Christopher Columbus made his first voyage.
 
A new dating technique, Axios reports, is proof Vikings reached the New World first.
 
That happened in the year 1021.
