"It's good luck when someone dies at your wedding"
It's been eight months since a comedian got a mention here. (It was Phil Hanley).
But in a world of unfunny Netflix millionaires, standard airport jokes and lazy crowd work, it's hard to find a fresh comic voice.
But consider Carmen Lynch, who's been at it since Conan and Letterman were a thing. A decade into her stand-up, she's a pro.
Joke after joke, she prowls offbeat mind alleyways for appreciative audiences, here largely women.
Beyond the now-required raunch, Lynch explores the surreal. By the time she gets to Marfan's disease (18.00), she draws continuing applause breaks her rivals might envy.
