"How much does YouTube weigh?"

“Let’s say YouTube were a newspaper, how much would it weigh?"

--Supreme Court Justice Samuel J. Alito, 73

This question, asked of a lawyer for NetChoice, prompts a second question: should the U.S's highest court be stomping thru social media  policy questions they may not understand?

But Philip Bump has figured out how much YouTube weighs for the Washington Post.

"If you wanted to get the entirety of YouTube delivered to your house, it would weigh about 100 million pounds, about 85 percent the weight of the Titanic. There would be a line of more than 2,200 trucks lined up to drop them off, a line of trucks stretching more than 30 miles, bumper-to-bumper."

Daily.

Bump's detailed calculation of YouTube's weight is HERE,  about as fantastical as Judge Alito's much-ridiculed question.
