Godzilla ate the Toronto Star

It's Godzilla's birthday!

On November 3rd, 1954, Godzilla made his first appearance in Toho's Godzilla, a classic monster movie widely regarded as a masterpiece. This date is officially Godzilla's birthday, with a Godzilla Festival held in Japan each year to celebrate.

Godzilla comes from the Permian period of prehistory which makes him more than 252 million years old.

Godzilla ate the old Toronto Star digs
on King Street in 1972,
after he got a bad bagel
at Stoodleigh's.

He damn near choked to death.

Then Godzilla went to
the Lord Simcoe for a birthday drink.
Then the Prince George.
Then the Swiss Bear.

He destroyed those places too.

Soon he will come for 1 Yonge St ....
