PARANOIA FILES: What about Bob?

Bob, my old robot vacuum cleaner, sleeps under a bed.

He bumps into things and cleans in tiny three-foot circles, until he traps himself behind a chair.

There, Bob dings, beeps and cries like a dog.

Or did. I now use a stick vacuum.

But what if Bob had eyes?

A new generation of robot vacs have cameras and web connects to gossip with Alexa, her  gizmo sisters and unknowable cyber Satans in the dark Smart Home beyond.

Smart vacs can share your sensitive household data.

They will map a home for hackers, burglars and Central Command.

They will chase the cat like a vengeful mechanical mouse.

They will tell unseen strangers if they see dog poop.

 These are tattletale vacuums.

My Bob is dead.

That's why he rests in peace under a bed.

But his smarter brothers are coming.

They can watch your bare feet.

Tell strangers if you move the bed.

Cell phones can see what new vac cameras see.

Will you harbor a little spy in your home?

Call them Frankensucks.
