Wake up!

Pretty pass?

Newbie New York State Governor Kathy Hochul sports a new charm necklace yesterday.

Before these show up at jewelers, by mail order and at Walmart, you think a proof of vax doc
will be involved at point of sale?

Me neither.

Trump's telethons ...

Does Donald Trump
have a Canadian mailing list?
Apparently.

"Dear Friend," Donald Trump Jr e-mails me,
"I just showed my father the list of Patriots
who will have their names broadcast LIVE
at his next rally and he noticed your name
wasn't on there.

"This is your chance to go down in HISTORY
with my father and all you have to do is ... "

Click a box and Donnie would have me send "Save America"
from $50 to $350.

Seven more e-mails (in three days) have arrived from Trump's oily son....

"New Trump wallet card available ...

"This is urgent, do not scroll ... we're shocked your name is not on our rally list...

"Join us! We are begging...

"We are giving you One Final Chance ..."

This barrage of Donny mail isn't annoying.
It's fascinating.

I admire grifters.
For a long while, I was on Reverend Ike's
mailing list.
(Look him up on Wikipedia.)

He preyed on the stupid for decades.

To whatever weasel put my name on
Old Yeller's mailing list, my thanks.

This just in!

"Friend! What happened? You've never let us down before, why now? This must be a mistake, so we decided to up the stakes and give you ONE FINAL CHANCE!"

For a short time, we're increasing your offer to a 450% 500%-IMPACT.

Some no-name will bloat any donation five times over. Or promise to.

Now guess which cup the little ball is under.

LOST SONGS: Attitudes / Billy Preston

_

Whenever timings for Parka Patrol came up short, we'd grab this, our emergency fill to reach the closing theme.

Billy Preston's songwriting and keyboard skills put him on albums by Little Richard and Ray Charles, the Rollling Stones, Eric Clapton and The Beatles.

Billy's chirpy piano tune lifts off and never looks back....

Poll cat

This, from a web reader...

"I worked the advance polls and Election Day. It would be nice to know who ordered the supplies. There were cases of hand sanitizer and boxes of masks. Each desk had a bottle of sanitizer and an open box of masks. In 5 days I gave out…2 masks. The bottles of sanitizer were left over 3/4 full. Elections Canada didn’t want the sanitizer, or open boxes of masks back, so they were given to poll workers who wanted them. I took a bunch to donate to a shelter. And they were ALL made…in China. "

Health Minister Christine Elliott admits
Ontario's vax passport site was down "briefly" today.

A spokesman denied it was the result of heavy usage.

Remember when "Where are your papers"
was just a sinister line hissed by uniformed heavies
in World War II movies?

But of course...

This was the message on the province's Get Your Proof of Vaccination site this morning.

At the moment (3pm, 6pm, 9pm, midnight), it simply bounces you back and forth between the Click Here and the page you just came from.

The province knew thousands were coming today, the first day new co-vid rules are "in effect."

This vax receipt--starting today--is supposed to be demanded at restaurants, concerts, bars, gyms, theaters at the door.

They are also required to cross-check it with a personal piece of ID.

How this can possibly work at a hockey game or a Cineplex is still a nightmare to come.

We are run by morons.

If you printed hard copies of the pdf e-mail back when you got your shot, you've already got the vax document you need.

If you want it on your phone, you'll have to get back in line.
Don't even ask about the QR codes coming next month.

The Queen's Park assumption that most Ontarians have computers, printers, phones, workable internet connects, app/pdf skills
is a false one.

Oh yeah.

Anthony Bourdain: A Cooks Tour

Anthony Bourdain's Cooks Tour series ran in 2002 on the Food Network. It's on YouTube.

Episode 1 above, Tokyo.
