Do you have a Virtual Private Network?

Bill C-11 is now law in Canada.

Through the government-appointed CRTC, the government can now force iffy Canadian legacy  media content onto social media feeds and suppress independent choices.

The government refused to accept amendments that would exclude content from being regulated by the CRTC.

When it last meddled in the media marketplace in the 1960s, the CRTC created a massive grey market in Canada for DirecTV.

Canada was offered a DirecTV channel for the CBC and a second for French or indy Canuck shows that would have put our signals and shows up for all North America.

Not good enough.

The offer died, to the benefit of Bell Expressvu and Shaw's Starchoice--which took years to develop and market similar satellite technology.

It was estimated back then that perhaps two in every ten Canadians bought or had access to a blackmarket DirecTV dish and an alias for service.

So 20% of TV buffs said fuck the gatekeepers.

It delayed satellite TV here.

The Trudeau government was "surprised" last year to discover significant public support for the truckers convoy. They weren't truckers.

There is a frustration abroad in the land.

Those who do not remember history are condemned to repeat it.
