If you work for a company that values consultants above anyone who works there, you'll probably enjoy the horror workplace comedy currently on amazon.prime
The Consultant stars Christopher Waltz as the creepy interloper at a mobile game company, whose collection of sneers, smiles and tics may remind you of any stranger who once interviewed you and your fellow drones.
Consultants pretend these interviews underscore their fantasies, and sell them to the company for a nice fee. Your bosses then redesign logos, pick new fonts, fire departments, jiggle procedures and--a year later--hire another consultant.
But Waltz shines as the oddly cold, unknowable weirdo at the center of manipulation, sadism and murder. Is he even human? It's delightful evil satire.
Watching is almost compensation for ever talking to a consultant, whose interests are rarely yours.
Almost.
Fortunately, the collapse of newspapers and magazines did for consultants what they once did to working stiffs.
