Olympic thin ice

If schadenfreude compels you to see 12 photos of Kamila Valieva's  free dance disaster, they are here.

If you would rather read how the adults in this 15-year-old's life failed her,  that tragedy is here.

As Sports Illustrated notes, the Olympics' "imaginary punishment" of Russia's state-sponsored doping program, was illuminated by the week-long ordeal of a skater so young she is supposedly a "protected person."

Valieva became a pawn, the face of the games' continuing drug test spoof.

Her one true friend was that stuffed rabbit.

SI calls it "child abuse, broadcast live."
