Dandelions are survivors.

 

"It's interesting how the symbol of the dandelion is so strong for so many people," says Saskatoon artist Monique Martin. "Everybody needs to think about the dandelion's strength during COVID.

 

"When I walk by, if I'm having a bad day, I go, 'It's OK, I can be like a dandelion. I can be a dandelion and survive.'"

 

Her 2,200 paper dandelions are stars of Context is Everything, an art installation that's touring museums in western Canada. They're made of hanji, a Korean paper.
