LOST SONGS: Walk On the Wild Side, Lou Reed

"Polly came from Miami, F L A

Hitchhiked her way across the U S A

Plucked her eyebrows on the way

Shaved her legs and then he was a she

Said 'Hey babe, take a walk on the wild side..."

It's  1972.

Things are changing, man.

Every generation thinks it cuts new cloth.

Above, the reason I own Fugs albums and too many copies of Paul Krassner's The Realist.

Keep up, old man.

Be a bro. Be whatever.

What are your pronouns?

PERFORMANCE: Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson take Rush to South Park

When you're zillionaires, you can throw a huge party for yourselves and 10,000 fans.

South Park gods Trey Parker and Matt Stone celebrated the 25th anniversary of their cut-out kids cartoon show at Red Rocks, the spectacular geo-theatre above Denver.

Drones, Cartman projections, Primus and the Park dudes wow'd the comfortably numb crowd, but it was the above "surprise" that provided the oh fuck moment.

A Rush walk-on.

Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson.

Feel the love.

(10 mins)

Stone and the late Neil Peart were pals.

The thanks of a grateful nation.

You can find the complete show, from beginning to end that August night a few weeks ago

                            here.

What's your syne?

Definition of syne: the trigonometric function that for an acute angle is the ratio between the leg opposite the angle when it is considered part of a right triangle and the hypotenuse.

Wait, that's trig or geometry, not algebra.

Shut up.

PERFORMANCE: It's Business Time, Flight of the Conchords

Jermaine Clement and Bret McKenzie show off their persuasive Love God skills.

The New Zealand duo took a decade's worth of songs to their 2007 HBO series, Flight of the Conchords, grabbed the money after two seasons and ran.

The resulting live tours paid off in moments like the one above.

And the rap battle below...

FLASHBACK: The Three Haircuts - So Rare, Flippin'

_

The Three Haircuts' 45 disc of these two songs made it to the pop charts, back when pompadour'd rock dudes ruled music in the 1950s.

Carl Reiner, Sid Caesar and Howie Morris deliver killer energy in this live telecast of the two parody tunes.
