Yes, Wonder Woman sings.

After her bullet-bouncing career as TV superhero in the 1970s, Lynda Carter carved out a second turn as a pop/jazz singer.

Rise Up arrived on YouTube yesterday.

No, it's not the Parachute Club tune.

Cookie Monster takes flight

When Cookie Monster appeared on John Oliver's talk show, the puppet did schtick   between videotape takes.

Cookie Monster's substantial comedy skills now  belong to David Rudman, a veteran puppeteer.  The late Frank Oz originated the fuzzy in 1966.

I watch these out-takes at least once a year.

Too late to take an improv class.

BEST BUDS: Bob and Don: A Love Story

"Somebody called me up and said 'Don Rickles needs a best friend. And nobody wants to do it."

               --Bob Newhart

Most are aware that comedians Don Rickles and Bob Newhart were best friends.

A New Yorker short debuted last night, and underlines the bud-ship with clips and unseen footage that tugs at the heart. Judd Apatow produced the 20-minute documentary.

It's an elegant eulogy to an era.

Newhart is 94. Rickles died in 2017.

Fair warning

If you didn't, how are you seeing this?

PERFORMANCE: Cole Porter, Bobby Short

_

"You've got what Adam craved

when he with love for Eve was tortured
She only had an apple tree,

but you, you've got an orchard... "

There is only one Cole Porter.

Don't look now, but this song is nearly 100 years old.

Verse after verse, he just won't stop.

Four years after the tune above, Porter wrote You're the Top.

"Updated" many times thru the decades, Porter sings the orginal genius lyric, below...

Bobby Short specialized in little-known Cole Porter songs for three decades at New York city's Cafe Carlyle. Anybody here ever see Mabel Mercer?
